In another shining example of the metal world’s unity, metallers throughout the US have recently begun to organise bone marrow drives for October and November in a bid to spread leukemia awareness. The phenomena is spurred on by the news that black metal icon Adam Darski aka Nergal is currently being treated for the serious disease, as well as the recent difficulty in finding a matching donor to help him.

The organisers for the drives in America include popular websites Metal Sucks and Metal Injection, who will host the donation event for the NYC area, as well as a music showcase featuring bands such as Car Bomb, Baptized in Blood and A Life Once Lost. Should you be in New York City or any other area where there is a bone marrow drive, it is urged that you come along and make a donation.
